Matt Baca is a commercial photographer and filmmaker based in San Luis Obispo, CA
I first picked upped a camera when I was 15 years old, experimenting with a VHS camcorder that I inherited from my Grandfather. I taught himself how to edit on a PC computer using Windows Movie Maker, converting homemade films I shot on mini-dv tapes into short movies for my friends and classmates. After a brief stint in college, taking courses in film theory and photography, I decided to work and become a PA for a small video production team in San Jose, Ca.
It's been a journey to say the least, but somehow I'm still connected to that kid who picked up that camera for the very first time.
By the end of the day, I'm a visual storyteller at heart, capturing my experiences through the craft of filmmaking and photography.
